Everyone is welcome to join us for these informative sessions to learn more about the programs taking root in our community.\n\n\n\n1) Providence Milwaukie Hospital: Presenting are  Walter Zisette and Renee King: Providence is working with a system housing expert on initial plans to add a senior housing unit on Lewellyn St.\, in the empty lot adjacent to the Providence Milwaukie Healing Place:\n\nProject Plan (basic components of the project):\n\n	60 - 80 units\n	Serving: very-low income seniors (62+) able to live independently\n	8\,000 sq. ft. Elderplace Center\n	Residential common areas\n	Dedicated onsite or offsite parking adequate to serve both Elderplace and residential needs\n\n2) COVID Recovery & Workforce Modernization Act of 2021: presented by Bridget Dazey\, Executive Director of Clackamas Workforce Partnership\n\n\n\nPandemic FallOut:\n\n\n	143\,000+ unemployed / 300% increase in long-term unemployed\n	20% increase in food stamp usage\n	70\,000 to lose benefits on 12/26 \n	1 in 3 struggle w/ housing.  \n\nLearn more about a proposed blueprint to support a system wide change and create a solution to solve these problems and help to support ground breaking change to the way we work\, hire and train our workforce in Oregon\n\n\n\n3) Catholic Charities of Oregon: Julia Metz\, Community Dvlmt & Housing Mgr will present on an affordable housing development proposed in Happy Valley.\n\n\n\nDon't miss out on these informative topics and if you would liked to see other topics at future meetings\, please feel free to email your recommendations to laura@yourchamber.com.
