DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Rick Gruen\, Manager w/ County Parks & Forest and Forest Economic Dvlmt - Rick will present on Cross Laminated Timber\, emerging industry trends\, forest management & forest policies associated with this proposed project. Rick will also talk about the recently submitted project to US Forest Service that focuses on the concept of "purpose-driven" timber sales as way to mitigate current forest management policies while also increasing the supply of raw materials (logs) flowing into the mills from our federally owned forest lands. There are some significant economic impacts that would have positive benefits to both urban and rural communities resulting from an increased supply of timber and timber revenues received by Oregon counties.\n\n \n\n \n\nSpeaker: Brooke Berglund\, Business & Labor Outreach Mgr w/ Port of Portland.\n\nBrooke will be presenting on the acquisition of Terminal 6 and their new strategy to restore carrier service for Oregon and Pacific NW shippers.  \n\n\n\n\n\nBrown bag lunch event.
