Topdog/Underdog
The Pulitzer Prize-winning Topdog/Underdog by Suzan-Lori Parks. It will open at the new Chapel Theatre in Milwaukie on November 9th and it will run through December 1st. The New York Times recently selected Topdog/Underdog as the best American play of the last 25 years. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/05/31/theater/best-25-plays.html?smid=fb-share The story of sibling rivalry is told with African-American brothers that grapple in a turbulent relationship punctuated with dark humor. Their names, ironically, are Lincoln and Booth. Each brother loves the other, but each wants to be on top. The play explores themes of family dynamics in a compelling fashion. Co-directed by Bobby Bermea and Jamie M. Rea and featuring LaTevin Alexander Ellis as Lincoln and Curtis Maxey Jr. as Booth, this production will be a fascinating evening of theater.
