    The Job:

    Crawlspace Inspectors deliver help to people when they need it most, responding to customers’ requests for help with a clear plan on how to put things right again in their homes. It is a tough job and takes a special kind of person. We are hoping that person is you.

    Crawlspace Inspectors do the following tasks:

    • Inspect crawlspaces, attics, and basements to figure out what it will take to clean up, repair, and protect customers’ homes.
    • Assess animal damage, water damage, and fire damage, and write down what is needed to complete remediations.
    • Give customers guidance and recommendations for crawlspace remediations.
    • Create price estimates so customers can understand the work and the expected cost.
    • Get customer contracts signed.
    • Coordinate with insurance companies when insurance is paying for repairs.
    • Communicate inspection findings to project managers and customers.

    Crawlspace Inspectors meet the following requirements:

    • Previous experience performing, planning, coordinating, or assisting in home restoration work.
    • Familiarity with basic concepts and practices in home construction and remediation.
    • Excellent ability to provide customer service.
    • Ability to perform sales; demonstrated comfort with helping people understand remediation services, addressing their needs, and getting their contracts signed.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and effectively do and coordinate multiple tasks in multiple projects each day.
    • Licensed and able to drive a motor vehicle in a safe and considerate manner to and from worksites, and you have your own car. The Crawlspace Crew reimburses Crawlspace Inspectors for fuel costs on worksite travel.
    • Currently in reliable commuting distance of Milwaukie, Oregon, or relocating within that distance.

    It would be great if you have a certification from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). This is not a requirement, though.

    This job description is not all-inclusive. Crawlspace Inspectors perform other duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Candidates hired for this position will receive detailed job information on essential duties and the day-to-day work.     Pay:

    Trainee Inspectors are paid an hourly rate of $20/hour.

    Once done with training, Crawlspace Inspectors are paid a salary plus commission. The base pay is $41,600 per year.

    A weekly target is set for the Inspector’s production. The commission is 20% of anything above the weekly target.

    Salaries are paid bi-weekly, and commissions are paid monthly at the first payroll of the new month.

    Schedule:

    8-hour shifts.

    Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm.

    Training & Growth at The Crawlspace Crew:

    When you join The Crawlspace Crew, you’ll start in our training pool as a trainee for the position you were hired to fill. During this time, you may rotate through different areas of the company to learn how our entire operation works—from the field to the office.

    You’ll get hands-on experience, meet the teams, and build a strong understanding of how your role fits into the bigger picture. Once your training is complete and you’ve proven you’re ready, you’ll officially be posted in your full role and eligible for your commissions.
