The Boring Marathon, Half-Boring Half-Marathon, and Constantly Boring 8K are in their 9th year. For 2022, the races will take place on September 11, 2022. All races start and finish at Boring Station Trailhead Park in downtown Boring, Oregon.
The Boring Marathon Races were started by Mike Strobel, a lifelong runner, member of the 50-State Marathon Club, and someone who believes that funding running in our communities is important.
When the non-profit was formed, we wrote our charter in a way so that everyone serving on the board does so as a volunteer, and that 100% of the proceeds of our event support the cross country and track teams at local high schools and middle schools. In the past 9 years, we have raised over $100,000 for the programs in our community. We also donate to those who run our aid stations, composed of non-profits, scholarship groups, and local running clubs. We are doing what we can to engage young people in the sport of running, which is something that can be done their whole lives.
