The original Tortoise has been around for more than 70 years. Cheerful has grown into the best college restaurant/pub, sports pub and late night Karaoke in Portland. We’ve been a sponsor of Portland State University Athletics for over 50 years. Our goal is to provide a cheerful environment for everyone to enjoy.

We offer more than just typical restaurant/pub food. You can find over 20 wing sauces that are truly the best in the city, breakfast that is served all day, burgers and sandwiches that are so good you will crave more. While you enjoy our food, pair it up with any of the 18 draft beers we have on tap. Don’t like beer? Then try our extensive variety of top-shelf liquors.
